1967 · Oil and acrylic on canvas
92 × 114 cm
Signed "ULF W. 67" lower left
A radiating pattern of black and white lines emanates from two points on the canvas and is broken up by several overlapping circles. Color is used sparingly but effectively, with touches of red, blue, teal, and orange showing through between the graphic forms.
The painting belongs to Wahlberg's abstract body of work, which he produced alongside his more figurative, new-realist subjects during the 1960s.
